According to the Reclaim the 7 Mountain website, the purpose of dominionism is to bring the earth under the blessing of God, so that Christ can return.
“Since the condition of the earth reflects the condition of those who have dominion over it, in order for the earth to be blessed and reflect the glory of God, those who are blessed must have a greater influence over it than those who are cursed.
“This happens when the Kingdom rule of God is extended into the hearts of people, multiplying the number of disciples on the earth and ultimately bringing the earth under the blessing of God. ”
But God works His plan. No one can come to God unless He has explicitly enabled him (John 6:65). So while someone might want to take it upon themselves to bring people who love Christ to all the nations, it depends upon God, not us. It is God who decides where and when people live so they can find Him (Acts 17:24-27).
According to the Dominion theology, “The purpose of the church, therefore, is to prepare for the triumphant return of the King by completing the dominion mandate.”
However, we can see scripture shows us the purpose of the church in Ephesians 4:11-13,
11And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
So if scripture runs counter to what the dominion theology teaches, to which should we pay attention, scripture or false teachers?
