Scripture tells us that we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so we will approve of God’s will.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. 16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
There are people who claim to know God. But their lives show otherwise.
Paul said we have to have faith and have a life which gives evidence of it.
20 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles also, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds.
James said the same thing.
14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
Does your life show change? Do you not see a problem with certain TV shows, or movies or music? Does what you watch glorify sin and Satan, or God and godliness?
If you dont see anything wrong with certain things on television or in movies, then perhaps you are not yet to a point where you can accept what God has said. Turn to God. Trust God. Show that change in your life.
