What is the doctrine of the Trinity?

These are the five lines of argument on which the doctrine is developed.

Within the essence of one God are three co-existent and co-eternal: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

1.                  There are 3 who are recognized as God: Father (Jn 6:27), Son (Jn 1:1-2), Holy Spirit (Mat 28:19).

2.                  The 3 are distinct from each other: Jn 14:16-17, Jn 15:26.

3.                  The 3 are eternal: Jn 17:5, Heb 9:14

4.                  The 3 are of one essence: Jn 10:30, Isa 45:5-6

5.                  Conclusion: the 3 (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) are equal.
