Jesus in the Prophets?

We’ve previously looked at some verses in the Torah indicating Jesus can be found there. We’ve also looked at some verses in the Psalms indicating He was prophesied there as well. Now we will look at some verses in the Prophets showing we can find the Christ, or Messiah, being prophesied even there.

Isaiah 9:6 tells us He will called God – we see this in John 1:1,14; 20:28; Col. 2:9.

Isaiah 40:3 is quoted in Matthew 3:3 talking about John the Baptist warning of the coming Messiah.

The fulfillment of Isaiah 53 is seen in Acts 8:30-35.

Zechariah 12:10 is reflected in John 19:37 and Revelation 1:7.

We see that Isaiah 11:1-2 tells us the Messiah would come from the root of Jesse, which is seen in Luke 3:23, 32, 4:1.

Jeremiah 23:5 tells us the Messiah would come from the line of David, which we see in Luke 3:23, 31.

Habakkuk 2:4 tells us of righteousness by faith, which we see reflected in Galatians 3:8-11 and Romans 4:9.

Isaiah 7:9 tells us His virgin birth, which we see in Matthew 1:25.

There are so many verses in the Prophets which foretell Christ, that we will not review them all here. The purpose of this post was to show that Christ is seen in the Prophets. And indeed, Christ is sen in the Prophets.
