Sex outside of marriage (13/15)

This is the thirteenth part of a series about marriage.


 

If two people are engaged, others should consider them as married, in terms of availability (Deuteronomy 22:23-24). 

Do not covet your neighbor’s wife  (Deuteronomy 5:21). 

Do not commit adultery (Genesis 20:1-7; Deuteronomy 5:18Hebrews 13:4; Proverbs 23:26-27).

Wisdom, discretion, and discipline help protect against adultery (Proverbs 2; 5; 6:20-35; 7:4-5).

Sex between people of the same gender is a sin (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

Sex with animals is a sin (Exodus 22:19; Leviticus 18:23, 20:15-16).

Incest (sex between people who are related, with the exception of a husband and his wife) is a sin (Leviticus 18:6-15; 20; Deuteronomy 27:20-23; 1 Corinthians 5:1-13).

Your brother’s wife (Leviticus 18:16)

A woman and her mother (Leviticus 18:14)

A woman and her granddaughter (Leviticus 18:17) 

The sister of your wife, while your wife is living (Leviticus 18:18)
