Pagan elements found in Narnia

This is an excellent review of the pagan elements found in Narnia:
“[T]he Chronicles of Narnia draw as much from pagan mythology as it does the Bible. The magical world of Narnia is inhabited almost exclusively by minotaurs, centaurs and unicorns.  Satyrs, fauns, and nymphs cavort among the pages accompanied by cyclopes, dwarfs, griffins and giants. Add tree-spirits and river-gods to this curious mixture and you have quite a wide spectrum of mythological creatures derived from Greek, Roman and Norse mythology. For example Centaurs originated in Greek myth, and dwarfs have origins in Norse myth.”
