Do practicing FILL-IN-THE-BLANK who are “saved” go to heaven after they die?

I cant tell you the number of times I have read or heard a question that goes something along the lines of “Do practicing FILL-IN-THE-BLANK who are “saved” go to heaven after they die?”

Let’s fill in the blank:
Do practicing liars who are “saved” go to heaven after they die?
Do practicing murderers who are “saved” go to heaven after they die?
Do practicing adulterers who are “saved” go to heaven after they die?
Do practicing witches who are “saved” go to heaven after they die?
Do practicing homosexuals who are “saved” go to heaven after they die?

We MUST repent and show our repentance by our lives.
Acts 2:38

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The person who does not obey Christ, does not know Christ.
1 John 2:4

4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

Lying, sexual immorality, murder, and practicing magic are all sins and those who do them and do not stop and turn to God through faith in Christ will end up in the lake of fire. It doesnt matter the sin… If you dont stop, you have not repented of that sin and its more important to you than God. Those who practice unrighteousness will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Romans 1:26-32

26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Revelation 21:8

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [a]effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19-21

19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Is stopping easy? No. But its needed. Pray to God to help you leave the sin behind.

If you are in Christ, you will be changed.
2 Corinthians 5:17

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

It is GOD who changes us.

Ezekiel 36:26

Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Philippians 2:13

13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

We must ALL turn now from our sin and to God – repent, change! Trust Christ as LORD and as SAVIOR – not just as a get out of jail free card, but as the one who deserves our love and obedience. Sometimes it will be a matter of repeatedly repenting from a given sin – but we cant simply embrace our sins and say “God will forgive me.” We must turn from our sin and turn to God. God works in us to desire and to do as He wants.

We are NOT expected to be perfect, but to grow in our sanctification.

Romans 6:22
But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.
Hebrews 12:14
Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-7
1 Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you excel still more. For you know what commandments we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God; and that no man transgress and defraud his brother in the matter because the Lord is the avenger in all these things, just as we also told you before and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification. So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.
Living a life of sin shows we reject God, even if our words claim otherwise. We must turn from sin, to God, through faith in Christ as our Lord and Savior.
