Chronological Bible Reading Exodus 39 – 40

12 Feb 2020, Chronological Bible Reading, Exodus 39 – 40.

My wife, Lori, and I are reading through the Bible in chronological order, which is the order in which the events happened. Her blog on this can be found here. This is not intended to be a lesson or a sermon. It is my thoughts and notes as I read through the text and as I sometimes look things up. Today we read Exodus 39 to 40.

Exodus 39

This chapter is the creation of the priestly garments, as the Lord had commanded Moses (vv 1-31).

Then the workmen brought the tabernacle, its furnishings and the priestly garments to Moses. He inspected them. Then he blessed the workmen (vv 32-43).

Exodus 40

God told Moses to set up the tabernacle and its furnishings, and to put the priestly garments on Aaron and his sons. Then Moses was to consecrate them. Moses did as the Lord had commanded (vv 1-33).

The cloud was over the tabernacle by day and the fire was in it by night. The Hebrews knew to move on when the cloud was not over the tabernacle (vv 34-38).
