Chronological Bible Reading 1 Chronicles 1-2

22 April 2020, Chronological Bible Reading, 1 Chronicles 1-2

My wife, Lori, and I are reading through the Bible in chronological order, which is the order in which the events happened. Her blog on this can be found here. This is not intended to be a lesson or a sermon. It is my thoughts and notes as I read through the text and as I sometimes look things up. Today we read 1 Chronicles 1-2.

1 Chronicles 1

This contains the genealogy from Adam through Noah. Then we see the genealogy from Noah’s sons Shem, Ham and Japheth. In particular, we see the genealogy from Shem through Abraham and his sons, Isaac and Ishmael. This chapter contains the sons of Ishmael, as well the chiefs of the land of Edom.

1 Chronicles 2

This chapter contains the genealogy of the twelve sons of Israel, especially genealogy of King David. Israel’s son Judah through Tamar was father to Perez, who fathered Hezron, who fathered Ram, who fathered Amminadab, who fathered Nahshon, who fathered Salma, who fathered Boaz whose son through Ruth was Obed, who fathered Jesse, whose seventh son as David.
