Chronological Bible Reading Joshua 19 to 21

27 March 2020, Chronological Bible Reading, Joshua 19 to 21.

My wife, Lori, and I are reading through the Bible in chronological order, which is the order in which the events happened. Her blog on this can be found here. This is not intended to be a lesson or a sermon. It is my thoughts and notes as I read through the text and as I sometimes look things up. Today we read Joshua 19 to 21.

Joshua 19

This chapter describes the territory of the tribes Simeon, Zebulun, Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, Dan.

Joshua 20

This chapter reiterated what a city of refuge was to be, and then named them.

Joshua 21

This chapter names the forty-eight Cities of the Levites, where each tribe gave cities to the Levites.

The chapter ends saying that all the promises God made came to pass.

43 So the Lord gave Israel all the land which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they possessed it and lived in it.44 And the Lord gave them rest on every side, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers, and no one of all their enemies stood before them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hand. 45 Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass
